The diabolical Dr. Eggman has hatched another plan for world domination!

He has built an amazing interstellar amusement park, floating in space around Sonic’s home planet, bursting with incredible rides and attractions.

However, all is not as it seems as Dr. Eggman has abducted an alien race and is harnessing their colourful energy to fuel a sinister plot. Before Dr. Eggman completes his evil plans though, Sonic discovers his mysterious theme park in space.

When he arrives, Sonic finds he is also able to use these alien powers and is ready to help. Sonic will need all his speed and skill as he faces this test, but, empowered by the alien energy, it’s a test he’ll pass with flying colours.

Game features:

• Non-stop high-speed action

• Collect and engage new ‘colour power’ from alien Wisps to perform new moves!

• UWe know it’s been reported elsewhere that the Sonic Colors OST is getting a digital release in Japan, but what we can confirm today is that it will also be reaching western shores. Yes, that’s right folks — a Sonic soundtrack is FINALLY coming out in the West… albeit digitally.

Starting today, you’ll be able to get Vivid Sound x Hybrid Colors, the Sonic Colors original soundtrack via digital distribution on the Apple iTunes Store in North America (already up), EU (should be up soon hopefully) AND Japan.

Vivid Sounds… features all 82 tracks from the game, split across three discs, showcasing a hybrid of analog and electronic tracks. You can buy the discs separately, and they are listed down on the store as volumes 1-3, but all three together do make the full album. This includes the opening theme “Reach For The Stars” and closing song “Speak With Your Heart”, both of which are performed by New Jersey group Cash Cash.

Speaking of cash, you’ll probably want to know how much these cost, huh?

Individual tracks: $1.29 / £0.99
or
Per Disc: $9.99 / £7.99

Tracks are available via Wavemaster Entertainment on the iTunes store. Posted by Kellie in Sonic Colors on 2:35:26PM Jan 26, 2011 Related gamesnique Colour Power for the Wii™ and Nintendo DS™

As the official release states:

Sonic is not the only one with spikes in Sonic Colors!

Check out the Color Power of the latest Wisp to be revealed; Pink Wisp and its Sonic-like spikes! When Sonic absorbs Pink Wisp, he can use "Pink Spike" Color Power, meaning he has much stronger spikes. Pink Spike makes the most of the spikes and is able to stick to any wall and ceilings! Exclusive to the Nintendo Wii version of the game, Pink Wisp helps Sonic explore new routes in a brand new way through certain levels of the game.

Personally, this wisp is actually one of my favorites – being able to roll anywhere you want is awesome. What do you guys think of the new possibilities the Pink Wisp brings to stages?

[http://www.addthis.com/bookmark.php SAN FRANCISCO & LONDON (May 26th, 2010) – SEGA® Europe Ltd. & SEGA® America, Inc., today announced Sonic Colors™, a brand new high speed action adventure in which Sonic the Hedgehog races through incredible theme park inspired worlds to rescue a colorful alien race from the clutches of Dr. Eggman. Sonic Colors will be available on the Wii™ system and the Nintendo DS™ system holiday 2010.

An extraordinary amusement park has been seen orbiting around the home planet of Sonic the Hedgehog, and rumours are spreading that an alien race of Wisps, who have a unique colorful energy, are being held captive there by the evil Dr. Eggman. Soon after arriving at the amusement park, Sonic discovers he is able to use these mysterious alien forces to help the Wisps escape! Sonic Colors for the Wii seamlessly combines both 3D and classic 2D game play perspectives, while the Nintendo DS version takes full advantage of the console’s dual screen.

“In Sonic Colors, players run at supersonic speed through incredible looking planets each with their own unique visual style.” commented Gary Knight, Senior Vice President of Marketing, SEGA. “In addition to the classic Sonic gameplay style, the colorful new Wisp power-ups offer a fresh new way of exploring these worlds and helps make Sonic faster than ever before!”

Sonic Colors sees Sonic accelerating to adrenaline-pumping super speeds and blasting through obstacles in ways never before seen in a Sonic game. The alien Wisp’s featured in the game each have a unique “Color Power” that, once freed, Sonic is able to absorb while speeding through the various theme park inspired planets. The Wisp energy enables Sonic to create new paths through the stages by drilling through the ground (Yellow Drill) for example, or speeding through the stage as a laser (Cyan Laser). Stringing the Wisp power-ups together creates a combo that increases Sonic’s boost gauge even more quickly and exclusive Wisp power-ups will be available for both Wii and the Nintendo DS versions, ensuring a unique and super speedy gameplay experience for Sonic fans everywhere.

Sonic Colors will be available on Wii™ and the Nintendo DS™ system holiday 2010.
